A drunk man who produced a knife at a late-night pizzeria after a fellow patron refused to pay for his meal was arrested in downtown Victoria Thursday night.

The 25-year-old man walked into the Joint pizzeria on Wharf Street and ordered a couple of slices of pizza and said the person in line in front of him would pay.

When that person refused, the suspect rustled through his pockets, and produced a knife. He then asked staff if he could rob them, said Victoria police Sgt. Colin Watson.

Staff said no.

With that the man sat down and continued to finish his stolen pizza.
